Circle Bursts

The circular footprint of the MAC logo mark informs many elements in the brand system.

These bursts are used to contain photos, hold content, and also just to simply provide some bright, poppy color.

Bursts can be categorized into three types: circle, pill, and tube. A true circle is just that — a circle. Pills are short rounded rectangles. And tubes are what happens when that rounded rectangle gets long.

There are no real rules about the length of a pill versus a tube. The moment when a pill becomes a tube is nuanced and nebulous, but you’ll know it when you see it.

Bursts work really well when they’re side by side like different cars of a train, or stacked on top of one another like a cartoony ice cream cone.
